London Stock Exchange Group agreed to buy data provider Octus for about $3.5 billion and raised its 2026 outlook.
Octus supplies data on private credit, so the deal pushes LSEG further into a fast-growing corner of market data, and the higher outlook arrived with it. It shows exchange and data groups paying up for specialist datasets, which is where the read-across lands for other data and index owners.

American Express beat on third-quarter profit, yet its shares fell, and Visa and Mastercard slipped with it.
American Express reported net income of $3.7 billion against $2.9 billion a year ago, but adjusted net income, which strips out a $982 million pre-tax gain from a sale, was $3.2 billion. The market looked past the headline beat, and the card networks fell in sympathy. Visa reports on 2026-10-27 and Mastercard on 2026-10-29, so the next test of that mood is close.

Wells Fargo reshuffled its leadership team and kept its $50 billion net interest income target.
Net interest income is what a bank earns on loans after paying for deposits, so holding the target says management still stands behind its core earnings. The leadership change is the part to watch, as it can shape how that target is delivered. The FOMC rate decision on 2026-10-27 bears directly on that earnings line for US banks.

Moody's reported third-quarter revenue above $2 billion, with management crediting AI as a driver.
Ratings and data firms are selling AI-enabled analytics on top of their existing datasets, and Moody's is pointing to that as a source of growth. It is a read-across for other data and ratings groups reporting soon, S&P Global among them on 2026-10-27.
