Privacy
StratDeck is run by Lewis Broadhurst, who is the data controller for everything described here. This page covers the website at stratdeck.uk and the StratDeck app for iPhone. Questions go to lewis@stratdeck.uk.
What we store
- If you only read. The website sets a cookie holding a random identifier, so visits and the features used can be counted without knowing who you are, and a cookie noting how you first reached the site, such as a search or a link. With each event we keep the page or feature, the time and your browser's type. Our host logs the IP address of each request, for security and to limit abuse.
- If you use the iPhone app without an account. The app sends nothing about you beyond its requests for stock data. It has no analytics, adverts or tracking of its own.
- If you create an account. Your email address, a username, and your password as a hash we cannot read. If you sign in with Google, the name and picture Google gives us. The settings you save, such as watchlists; any holdings you record; and a daily count of which features you used.
- If you subscribe to emails or join a waiting list. Your email address, when and where you signed up, the phone type you told the waiting list, and a record of each email we sent you, including whether it was opened or a link in it was followed.
We do not collect payment details, your contacts, your location or anything from your broker.
What we use it for
- To sign you in and keep your settings.
- To send the emails you asked for, and emails about your account such as a password link.
- To see which parts of StratDeck are used.
- To keep the service secure.
We rely on your consent for emails, on our agreement with you to run your account, and on our legitimate interest in understanding and protecting the service for the rest. We do not sell your data, show adverts or follow you across other companies' sites and apps.
Who processes it for us
- Vercel hosts the site and provides its visit analytics.
- Neon holds the database.
- Resend sends our email.
- Google signs you in, if you choose it.
These companies may process data outside the UK. Where they do, it is under the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept until you delete your account. Deleting it removes your account, settings, watchlists and recorded holdings at once, and stops our emails. We keep a note that an address unsubscribed, so that we do not write to it again. Counts of visits that were never tied to an account are kept without a time limit, and identify nobody.
Your choices
- Delete your account. On the website, on the Account page. In the app, Account, then Delete account.
- Stop emails. Use the unsubscribe link in any email.
- Clear the cookies. Clearing this site's cookies in your browser removes the identifiers described above.
You can also ask to see, correct or erase what we hold, or object to how it is used, by writing to lewis@stratdeck.uk. If you are unhappy with the answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Not advice
StratDeck is research. Nothing on it is a personal recommendation, and we hold nothing about your circumstances to make one with.
