Lam Research said supply limits will cap its outlook, and chip equipment makers fell hard.
Lam makes machines used to build chips, so a warning that it cannot supply enough points to a bottleneck at the start of the chain, not weak demand. Applied Materials and ASML fell too, and smaller equipment names like Cohu, Entegris and Aehr also closed sharply lower the same day, so the hit was wide across the group.

Nebius took on a $3.5 billion loan from Citi, and its shares fell 7% that day.
Neocloud firms rent out AI computing power and fund their growth with debt. The market is now questioning how much debt they can carry, which matters for anyone relying on these smaller providers to keep building capacity. The company says the facility gives it more flexibility over how it funds growth in 2027 and beyond.

MaxLinear beat expectations and raised its outlook on data center demand, yet its shares closed 13.9% lower.
Good results did not protect the stock, because networking and optical names fell together. MACOM, Viavi, AXT and Coherent all closed down between 12.5% and 15.9%. The market was marking down the whole group, not judging MaxLinear alone.

Forgent Power Solutions said sales and profit will beat its guidance, but its shares closed 21.5% lower after its finance chief said he was stepping down.
Forgent makes electrical equipment for data centers, so a guidance beat points to strong demand for power gear. The shares fell anyway, on the same day as the CFO departure notice. Other data center equipment names, such as nVent and Accelevation, also closed more than 12% lower.

INNIO won another data center order, and Applied Digital announced a wind-powered data center venture.
Both items show that getting power to AI sites is a bottleneck being solved with new deals. INNIO says orders from one data center customer now total 1.72 GW, which adds to its backlog. Applied Digital rose 8.5% on a 50 MW joint venture with Soluna. INNIO reports earnings on October 27.

Nvidia struck a supply deal with KYEC and a partnership with Vertiv, and Vertiv shares rallied.
The KYEC deal is framed as a small part of a much larger Nvidia supply commitment, which shows how much Nvidia is lining up with its suppliers. Vertiv rose on a partnership that targets 30% more first-year token output, so Nvidia's plans are reaching the data center equipment makers around its chips. Vertiv reports on October 28.
